Retinoids

Include
- Adapalene.
- Tretinoin.
- Isotretinoin.

Treat
-  Inflammation.
- Treat blackheads.
- Whiteheads.
- Inflamed spots.

Possible consequences ?
-  May cause skin peeling and redness, settle over time.
- Become little worse before improving.
- Skin become sensitive to sun.
- Cause irritation, burning or dryness.


Therefore, use a low-strength, less frequent application and for a shorter duration.

Azelaic acid

Take these tablets on an empty stomach, between meals or with a glass of water (not milk).

Tetracycline, Oxytetracycline, Lymecycline and Doxycycline.
Take these tablets between meals with a glass of water not milk or on an empty stomach.


Note : Should only be used after Doctors advice.

Precaution :

Not for pregnant or feeding ladies.
Not for under 12 year childrens.


Topical antibiotics

-Good at treating inflamed acne but blackheads and whiteheads may remain.
-Cause mild irritation but generally cause fewer side-effects than the others.


Isotretinoin tablets

-Isotretinoin greatly reduces the amount of oil (sebum).
-Clear spots even in severe cases.
